Be enchanted by the cheery colours of late autumn. I was embraced by the many beautiful sights in Japan when I arrived in early December 2011. Not to mention the comfy chill of early winter. Here is sharing some photos of my trip. Places include Tokyo, Tokyo DisneySea and Hakone. – Marcus Lim

The cityscape has changed much over the years in Singapore. Here are some photos of an evening spent along Kallang River. As I usually do not carry a tripod, I make do with just the camera. At ISO400, you can really see the colour noise in some of these photos. Less than ideal but nevertheless, it is just good to relax and take some snapshots. – Marcus Lim

Finally paid a visit to the Marina Bay Sands. The SkyPark Observation Deck is a great place to take in the sights of Singapore. Splendid views and you get live music on certain nights. You can get your tickets at the box office at Basement 1. Do check the weather and whether the Park is booked for private function before heading down. Umbrellas and tripods are not allowed. – Marcus Lim

When it comes to BW photography, the name that comes to mind is none other than Ansel Adams. The legendary American Photographer whose stunning BW portraits of Yosemite National Park are not only timeless, but are jewels of enlightenment for all photographers.

Since my exploration into BW photography, I have learnt much and love the richness it offers. How to select the subjects and the visual stories for it.

If you are planning a trip to the Singapore Flyer, make sure you are ready to take some pictures for keep sake. Check the weather first and make sure you have your neutral density filter with you. Was up there at about 5:30pm. There is a strong glare from the late afternoon sun. Check your White Balance. – Marcus Lim

It is a real challenge to get in the right spot for occasion like fireworks. After struggling through the walls of crowd, I only managed a foot space through high fence along the Marina bay area. Did not regret not bringing a tripod as there wasn’t any space or time for it. Just in time to fire off. – Marcus Lim
